Haha. He hasn't been a 3rd pairing defensemen his entire career.
His first 2 seasons on the Islanders he played #1 minutes, put up 56 and 49 pts, and had the best plus/minus over that span.
If he wasn't so old it would be a no-brainer and I would be all for it.
Still think there's a decent shot that he could be a better version of Kronwall than Kronwall, and we could slide Kronner to the 2nd pairing for even strength.
Hard to gauge his last 2 years since the Islanders have just been god-awful over that span, but if you look at the 2 years prior to that the dude was impressive.
