Good theory. But there will be no teams struggling to make the cap floor this year.

The Islanders are only $8M below the cap with no goalies signed and only five defenceman signed. Half of that is gone if they unbury (?) DiPietro.

The Jets are $7M below with 12 players signed.

There won't be any moves to meet the cap floor as no teams will be in that position.
