Assuming the rumors were true. Never bought into the idea of Detroit ditching Scotty Bowman in favor of Keenan as GM/coach. But who knows. If anyone would know, it would have been Smith.

Either way for all of Nedveds faults, getting him for Esa should have been a steal. That Nedved/Zubov deal irks me more than any trade in the last 20 years, by a gigantic margin.
