I play soccer weekly every summer, May/June to October-ish. I was out of the country till now so I started late.

I've been doing it for maybe 4 years now, my technical skill has improved, but very slowly. I still can't kick a ball right. (despite being in house league from age 6 until 16!)

But decision making wise I am much better, I see open spaces better, I know when to give and go, I tend to cover better.

Unfortunately I have a minor blood disorder and my cardo has always been weak. I'm a cheetah for 5-10 mins, then I'm dead for a good 30.

Same thing for hockey, I can't maintain a high rate without crashing for a long time.

Some people develop that technical excellence where they don't move much, they can deke, pass and move with minimal effort, I really don't have that yet.

Also when playing 5v5 or 6v6 on a small field, there is less room to play a position, you really have to contribute all the time. It's why I prefer it over big field games, but its definitely a workout.
