There was no reason for him to make that statement. He could have said any number of positive things without saying that. Subban loves the city and the team. Will he play his whole career here? Nobody knows. Does it seem like he "may already have decided to continue his career elsewhere"? No. No, it really doesn't. I don't feel your post was as stupid as some others, but it definitely seems uninformed and out of the blue.

By the way, claiming that "may" is a qualifier and using it to validate your post is a bit of a cop out. You could say Subban may decide to retire at the age of 27 and go play golf. Sure, it is a possibility of SOME sort. Is it a realistic one? No. Based on what Subban has said throughout his time here, the likelihood of him leaving Montreal in 2 years due to the bridge contract is remote. It is more likely that he plays himself into a value where the Habs management foolishly decide they can not afford him before he actually decides to leave this city and team on his own.
And for all the loyalty and dedication Subban shows, the fans on this board will start a "how much is Subban worth" thread like now happens regularly for Markov and Plekanec.

A lot of fans just aren't getting what a special individual we have here. I just hope Bergevin can wrap a team around him better than what happened in Markov's case.
