Severe thunderstorm warning for
Parkland Co. near Stony Plain Spruce Grove and Enoch issued

AT 1:10 PM MDT METEOROLOGISTS ARE TRACKING A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 25 KILOMETRES SOUTH OF THORSBY. THIS THUNDERSTORM IS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 KM/H AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE LARGE HAIL, STRONG WINDS, AND COULD PRODUCE A TORNADO.

Take cover, if threatening weather approaches.

Strong wind gusts and hail can damage property and cause injuries. Local downpours can cause flash floods.

Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away.

Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.
