Really interesting that you said that. I'm mostly self-taught when it comes to hockey and the first stick I bought for myself is a righty. It just didn't feel right and I had very little control over the puck so I tried switching hands and it worked much better. The thing is, I immediately thought that I was a closet leftie and my life as a rightie had been a lie. I know it sounds bizarre but in some circles being left handed is akin to being handicapped. You need special scissors, etc. No offense intended -- as a child I favored my left until my parents trained me to favor my right. I can see where some players might go the extra mile to convert to playing as a right handed shot.

BTW, I still write, throw and do most things right handed.
