Personally, I'm cool with any of the "Big 7" falling to us. But if MacT has his sights set on someone, it could be worth it. And I feel this is the kind of deal the Canes would be looking for if they did trade down. Not totally unreasonable IMO.
You could argue giving them the 7th overall and a 2nd rounder is fair. Just not sure if that's enough to entice the Canes to make a trade. So I dunno. Say Barkov is there at 5. Would you really not pull the trigger on the above deal?
If Barkov was there at 5 then I would pull the trigger but that is not going to happen
