This is open to debate. Did it REALLY work with Coots? Everyone complains about his lack of offense. Part of it is role, part of it is because he was rushed.

Might he not have developed his offensive game even more in the Q, given one more year? Worked wonders for Huberdeau...

I'm not convinced Laughton NEEDS to play in the NHL this year. Another year in Jr as 1C (instead of 2C behing Jenner), a trip to the WJC as team leader, a playoff run, etc. might turn him from a two way checker to a scorer with more chance to blossom offensively.

Not saying he can't or won't play for the Flyers, but if you are developing offensive players for the future, playing 4th line minutes and doing PK work in the NHL might not be the only school possible.
