Not every deal is going to be great.

The good thing is that we have a generous owner and a GM who will do anything to win. Mark Streit was the clear cut no1 amongst PMD in free agency and Homer went after him and got him signed. It's always a risk to sign a 35 year old to a 4 year contract but at least he signed the right type of player.

The bad thing is that Homer has zero patience and often over-commits when it comes to getting his preferred piece - almost like a kid in the candy store. When you acquire the rights to a player who already expresses his interest in playing here and how positive he feels about this franchise what's the point in getting the deal done within two days? Why throw the money and years at him when Homer could just wait it out for some more days to bring down the AAV a little to mitigate the cap situation?
