Just because people are projecting big things doesn't mean that they will come to fruition. There have been 1st overall picks in every major sport that haven't panned out. I'm not saying Mackinnon won't be good, if not great, because I do think that he will be. I'm just saying there is a chance that any prospect in this draft does not live up to their potential. He hasn't proven anything in the NHL yet.
