I would do
McDonagh + Sam Noreau for the 1st overall + Duncan Siemens.
I would add a conditional 1st round 2018 draft pick so 5 years from now, if Noreau did not work out, for any reason other than he turned into damaged goods on your watch, I would give you Rangers 2018 first for Noreau back. [So you get free look at Noreau for 5 years (he is 2ish years away so that is 3ish years est. NHL service on ELC contract), only requirements are he is not LTIR and you didn't already trade him to 3rd party, i.e., he is still Avs property.]
McD is proven franchise D, emphasis on D skill + techniques.
