Post your Capgeek Roster Offseason Fever Dreams

A find a distinct temptation to mess around with capgeek as a fun distraction while simultaneously understanding it's nonsense and my dreams of signing Horton to play left defense will unjustly remain unrealized.

That said, it's almost draft time/free agency, and everybody has their opinion on what the Sabres should do to fix their woes. Your barber wants them to get rid of those damn Euros and draft some good American boys (RIP Lindy). Your teammate wants them to trade Miller for Jamie Benn because "Lindy loves Miller, bro." Your uncle called just the other day to ask if Briere has signed yet.

Even my namesake takes up valuable print space with such gems as "sign good players" and "trade bad ones for a profit."

It's fun to play GM for an offseason, but it can tend to take away from the discussion even in roster speculation threads. Either it distracts from more thorough analysis or goes ignored, and everyone wants their mad genius to be appreciated, don't they?

At the Draft

Miller (50% retained), McNabb, #16 to Philadelphia for Gustafsson, #11.

- As a result of acquiring Miller, Philadelphia decides to buy out Bryz. Snider's bloodlust is sated.

Free Agency

Sign Guillaume Latendresse to a two-year deal worth 1.25 million per year. Assuming they won't be contending next year, it's a low risk, high potential for reward deal if he can put together a full year like 09-10. They can afford to roll the dice financially.

Sign Bryzgalov to a two-year, 2 million per deal. He's just cashed in from the buyout, so give him a fair shot in a 1A/1B to restore his name. Enroth may not be ready for a full load, no need to rush and spoil him.

Re-sign players as shown. Cody 3 x 3, Flynn 1 x 2, Gustafsson 1.5 x 2, Hackett .9 x 2
