That would not have been my first choice, but I would have increased my offer in hopes of getting Bernier.
I would have been willing to trade another prospect with Read to make it a better offer than Toronto's.
Read+Cousins/Heeter/Laughton + a 2nd for Bernier should have been enough.
With the goalie situation solved we could look toward bolstering the defense.
