I dont want the Rangers to insult him, but I'm hoping he wont get a Malkin type cap-killing deal either.

Hasn't happened yet. At every contract opportunity for Lundqvist to date, he has received top dollar (and delivered).

Despite goalies playing the most minutes, they still haven't achieved true franchise salary as of yet. I would be intrigued to see a Baseball-esque WAR goalie value compared to salary (how many more wins over typical .913 goalie).
