Edmonton is the worst city I've ever been to for being a pedestrian. Drivers are completely oblivious to them, or if they are aware it's to race someone through an intersection before they can start going through a crosswalk. Drivers turning right in Edmonton routinely never look right and pull in front of people with a walk signal.

If it's not that it's sidewalks that just end for no reason. North end is notoriously bad for this. Walk 20 minutes and then you're just faced with a ditch on the other side of the road. South end has no crosswalks, so a person is forced to walk a kilometer out of their way just to cross a road.
