It could be true, but I'm just too skeptical of political arguments to know if it holds water or not. For instance, out here in California, they like to scare us with how dramatically school and police budgets had to be cut, but in reality the only reductions were to planned spending increases. I don't doubt that things may be tight for a year or two for the city of Glendale, but with the Super Bowl in 2015, I would hope their budget will be fine long-term, regardless of how successful the Coyotes are. Lack of real estate development and home purchases are probably a bigger worry in the scheme of things.
