Please don't roast me if I'm wrong.. I'm not a lawyer nor CBA expert, but this is why I believe KP is eligible to be claimed on waivers..

CBA Article 13.4

(c) A 20 year old Player who plays in one or more Professional Games in the 2013-
14 season will be exempt from Regular Waivers as follows:
Season Regular Waivers
13-14 Exempt
14-15 Exempt
15-16 Exempt
16-17 Eligible

Because KP was 20 when he played in his first "Professional Game" in 2010-11, I believe by that ruling 2013-14 would make him waiver eligible..

There's a couple examples in the CBA where "NHL Games" and "Professional Games" are used somewhat differently for a player who is 18 or 19 compared to a 20+ year old.. I know it's confusing but based on 13.4c, I do believe Snow and Staple are correct.
