I'm sorry but I don't think I got the memo that stated Klefbom was better than Smid, Petry, Schultz and Ference.

I watched him at the development camp and he looked good against guys who aren't even close to making the league yet. That is definitely not enough to start anointing him onto the team. He made mistakes, rookie mistakes, that will need to be corrected.

We've rushed too many Oiler D-men at a young age. Smid struggled early, Petry struggled early, Gilbert struggled early, and this year was a defensive struggle at times for Justin Schultz, who could have used a bottom pairing minutes assignment with top PP time but instead had to take on top 4 hard minutes as a rookie. Please, Klefbom needs AHL time for a bit and if he does come up, then bottom pairing minutes will ease him into the transition.

There's a reason why Detroit is so good at developing players. They take their time.
