The OP does have a point... look at the top 10 heaviest Oilers on that team... EVERY single one of them is off the roster. Only Eager "may" be back.
The other part of looking at that list, though, is checking how effective those "heavies" were relative to smaller guys like Hall/Yakupov or even a guy like Smid. Once you do that, you wonder what the relevance of arbitrarily looking at a count of heavy players is.

Peckham and Eager were non-factors, couldn't crack the roster and were pretty much ineffective when they were there. Hordichuk was completely irrelevant, to a large extent Smithson was as well in his short stint here. Petrell was marginally useful but did he really bring anything to the team that he wouldn't have if he weighed 10 pounds less? Ryan Whitney might be the quintessential example of the irrelevance of this 209 pound cutoff - let's just ask anyone in the NHL if they think he brings more or less of a physical element to the game than his "replacement" in Ference, who unfortunately doesn't qualify for the 209-pound-club.
