Sharks heading into Free-Agency

By Jan Sose

"Soon it is time when hockey players throughout the HFNHL league will begin their quest for a new place to hang their skates.

Some are on the twilight of their careers. They are the veterans who have been edged out by their younger counter parts. This group is not necessarily ready to retire. On the contrary, they can still play as well as contribute.

Perhaps the largest group of players on the market is the journeyman. These men are the middle of the road players who are not considered the top of the class, but are nevertheless the heart and soul of most teams.

The final collection of players is the smallest and most publicized. These are the ones who are the most sought after. They are also the ones who will cost teams the big bucks and grab the headlines."

Last summer, Shane Doan was the headline grabber. He became the talk of the frenzy. It cost the SJ sharks some big bucks.

In this summer, will Sharks be again spending some big bucks?

There is some rumors spinning around in SJ that team has acquired two elite defensemen; Cam Fowler and Stephan Robidas, but nothing is confirmed yet. If rumors end up to be true then look for team heading into FA only to sign a goalie and second line center.

Team payroll is just above the minimum cap 40mil, so plenty of room left.

Some have heard GM saying that Sharks have plans to rebuild team but these rumors might not be true. more team in conference are planning the same rebuild route, so Playoffs could be easier to reach next season.

to be seen can Sharks fulfill empty spots in current roster?
