Blackhawks Trainer Bringing Stanley Cup to Crestwood

Chicago Blackhawks trainer Mike Gapski, a Crestwood resident, is inviting a "friend" over to his hometown next week, and everyone's welcome to stop over and say hi.

Thanks to Gapski—and the Blackhawks for, you know, winning the NHL Final—the Stanley Cup will be in Crestwood on Wednesday, July 24, according to Village Mayor Lou Presta's Facebook page. There will be a parade, and photo opportunities with the Cup will benefit Crestwood charities and amateur sports teams, according to the page.

Here's the July 24 schedule for the Stanley Cup:

9 to 10:30 a.m.: The Cup will be at Incarnation Parish, 5757 W. 127th St., for a photo op.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: A parade featuring the Cup will start at Incarnation Parish and go to Caesar Park, 4454 142nd St., for more photos.

Photo Cost: $5 for individual shots, $10 for family shots.

Gapski has been the Blackhawks head athletic trainer since 1987, and he lives in Crestwood with his wife, Lynne, and their four children, according to a press release.

After its appearance in Crestwood, the Stanley Cup will hustle over to make an appearance in Merrionette Park at 115 Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th St.
