No, he certainly does not. He's a skilled defender with a great shot and excellent skating ability. However, he simply does not have the vision and poise to be a QB on the powerplay. The Pens PP runs through Crosby and Malkin, and during portions of this year, Paul Martin. It has nothing to do with his production, it's just a fact that the flow of the PP does not run through Letang.

Gonchar was the last true PPQB that the Pens had at the point. Watching him and Letang is like night and day.
