Total noob question, bare with me:

I bought my Bauer Impact 100s probably....almost ten years ago. Luckily the guy who fit my skates for me suggested to get a bigger size, so 12 year old me could grow into them. I'm 22 now, and they still fit me fine (I guess he left a LOT of room for me to grow, haha), but I'm aware that skate technology has probably come a long way since 2003. I love my skates to death, but I've always found that they don't quite lock my ankle in correctly, and I think I need new laces because I'm forever having to tighten them. Is it worth just going out and buying a new pair? I'll probably stick with Bauer, near the bottom of the range.
