You can be a playoff team without future hall of famers. They have incredible depth in their pool in both offense and defense right now along with one of the best pro goalie prospects in Mrazek. Adding a few more Hudler/Franzen/Kronwall/Fleishmann/Filppula level players will still help a team maintain making the playoffs. Not sure they can be cup contenders without Datsyuk/Zetterberg level players but their organization has drafted well enough without high picks to remain respectable IMO.
