Who is paying for the new building? City money wasn't used for the new baseball stadiums and the Barclay Center. Public financing was used to improve infrastructure at those sites.

New York City and New York State don't have the money to build a sports building.

The popular site is near the West Side Highway. It used to be the Hudson rail yards. Jacob Javits Center location is now the new spot.

That's where Steinbrenner wanted to build a new Yankee Stadium in the 1980's. Bloomberg and Woody wanted a football stadium built there along with NYC hosting the 2012 Summer Olympics which didn't happen.

A very long time ago,the Garden was looking to build a new Garden on that site before they renovated in the late 1980's. It was too expensive.

That location is now taken
