Much easier for defensemen to come over and excel. Hejda did it. Emelin did it. Timonen, Visnovsky, Zidlicky, Streit all did it. Grebeshkov did it. A good defenseman is something that translates into every league. Not necessarily offensively - but certainly so in terms of quality 2-way play.
