The thing is, as a 17-18 y/o he put up 51 pts in 62 games in the OHL. He scored against his peers 3 pts in 5 games in the U17 WCH and 4 pts in 7 games in hte U18 WCH.
Size from a offensive point of view is kind of "digital". A 1 or 0. Binary. You have it or you don't. It just don't matter much if you are a midget like Kane or Zucc or a bit bigger but still weak. You can't overpower D's anyway. If they catch you, you are overpowered anyway by 99% of the D's.
ST obviously isn't a star when it comes to playmaking, sniping or whatever either. Its not like he is this super great hockey player who just happens to be extremely small.
What I like about ST is that he is very good at what he is good at, and there are -- some -- room in the game for a player like him. An extreme dynamo. A player who would provide a ton of support in terms of speed and puckhandling for a center/winger on his line. Kind of like Marty Straka.
Without the contract limitation, I would love to take a change on ST. He is a great fun to watch if nothing else. You never know with a kid like that. But...
