I do know alot of people keep them as collector items, as well as some who try to sell them.
There are still certain cards or sets that are worth money. But no where near the boom that happened during the 90's. I dumped a large portion of my hockey card collection during that time. (Gretzky, Messier, Coffey, Bourque, Yzerman, Savard etc... rookie cards, had doubles or triples of each). Since that time period, those cards have either declined in value since I sold them, or have gone up slightly in price.
