Too bad for Higgins - hope he has a quick recovery.

That being said, the team will have to pick up the slack, especially on the PK where he was dynamite.

My question: Since Higgins will now be out for an extended period, does Carbo bring up someone from Hamilton now? The 'Lats to the first' move was made I think with the idea that Higgins would only be out for 1 or 2 games.

Perhaps they should recall Kostitsyn and play him with Koivu and Ryder. Keep Latendresse protected with Bonk and Johnson (where he has looked his best all year) that could be a better move. Besides, I don't want Murray and Downey in the lineup at the same time for an extended period.

Lines would be:

Kostitsyn - Koivu - Ryder
Samsanov - Kovalev - Perezhogin
Latendresse - Bonk - Johnson
Begin - Plekanec - Downey

That could work for a six week period IMO.
