Looking at the west. Is Vancouver making the playoffs?

Realignment put them in a much tougher division with the California teams. Vancouver had a layup every year for the division with Minnesota,Edmonton,Calgary and Colorado.

Anaheim

Flames
Oilers

Chicago
Blues
Stars
Wild
Avs
Jets
Predators

Its not going to be easy for Vancouver. The 3 California teams should finish 1-2-3 in the division. The other division has 3 playoff teams from last season in Chicago,STL and Minnesota which should all be very good again. Dallas will be better. If one of the young teams like Colorado and Edmonton takes the next step, they will be in the wildcard mix. Nashville could be a playoff team again. Phoenix could bounce back after a down year. Tortorella has his work cut out for him.
Anaheim is a wild card team at best, Vancouver should have little trouble getting into the top 3. The Kings and the Sharks are the favourites to win the division though.

Anaheim's success was a short season anomaly like Toronto's. But instead of going from bottom dweller to bubble team like TOR, they went from bubble team to top team. Abnormally high shooting percentages in close games inflated their record, much like it deflated the Rangers' record.

Viktor Fasth is a stud though and has a history of carrying teams, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they got 4th or 5th and a wild card.
