When you have strong, big, tough D-men like Souray, Komisarek, Rivet, Bouillon, Dandy...who PROTECT their goalies, fight when needed, don't get pushed around, PROTECT teammates...
It's useless having Streit (wimpy game) who gets pushed around all the time, and NEVER EVER protects the goalie. Every D-Man has GOT TO protect our goalies.
Streit is playing for himself and not his goalies, teammates... He'll never ever be tough. He'll never PROTECT our goalies...he doesn't fit into our ALL-HEART team...

You don't go to war (playoffs) with players like Ribs (gone), and Streit (still here).
I think you're forgetting something...Streit is our 7th or 8th D, which is why he makes .600m$ Now given that, I think that Streit is doing well (10GP, 0G, 4A, +1). Oh and everything you just said about Streit, you can say the exact same for Markov.

Edit: Btw guys, an interesting stat is that Before tonights game Latendresse was 3rd in hits behind only Begin and Komisarek.
