Which is a slap in the face to Tokarski. I can see why it took so long to get him signed now. I don't know if he ultimately has NHL potential or not, but he has been a very good AHL goalie and he's still young, I just cannot fathom how the organization so clearly seems to favour Mayer over him.

It can't be very motivational for Tokarski to have come here, played so well, been so clearly superior, and then get the series of putdowns that he has had (not being #3 in the playoffs, then getting a worse contract than Mayer) from the organization. I'd think it would have been wiser for the team to invest the little bit extra in making sure he was happy and highly motivated, it can only be to our benefit if he is. He has been around long enough as a pro that it would seem counterproductive to treat him like a newcomer who has to go the extra mile all over again to earn his spot in the organization, if that's the philosophy.
