well i wonder if Mact is still 'reasonable optimistic' that he can make significant changes to the team? it's pretty clear that top 6 Cs and top 4 Ds are almost unattainable thru trade and good 3rd line Cs aren't much easier. the only players that move are wingers.

of the available Cs left, are any of them really much better than Lander or Acton? i don't know. seems Mact and Eakins are content.
