Can this Team as built go farther than 11-12

I don't expect a cup or even a deep playoff run out of this year's team. 11-12 will be the standard for quite a bit imo, and in a year or two a lot of people are going to want Torts back. We just don't have the elite talent to compete with the better teams. Obviously in 11-12 we didn't either, but we also lead the league in fighting majors and blocked shots and we had an entire roster that bought into a team concept.
That all got blown up when we traded away and lost to free agency a huge chunk of our lineup that was ultimately the sum of the parts that made that team great. Letting Prust walk was a mistake. Acquiring Nash at the expense of all of our center depth was a mistake. Trading Gaborik for a similar return to the one we got was a good move that should've been made prior to the shortened season.
Torts was great for the team aside from his inability to reconcile with Avery and, under the circumstances, properly utilize Kreider. Under the circumstances of the shortened season, Kreider needed to be slotted with our poor excuse for a top 6. Under normal circumstances, playing on a third line with Anisimov or Duby and Callahan would have been fine, but the Nash trade killed that depth opportunity.
Moving forward, as much as it'll hurt, we probably need to move at least a couple of our character guys like one or more of Cally, Boyle, Girardi to try and get some bonafide NHL goal scoring back in a return. It's either that or trade for high picks and rebuild again. Vigneault worked magic offensively, but he also had the Sedin's, Kessler, Burrows, etc. We don't have the talent in our roster to duplicate those results as-is.
