If I had to pick one thing he turns over the puck to much. Tavares last season spent way to much time in his own zone and alot of that was due to Boyes turn overs.

Beyond that he isn't physical enough or go into the corners. It didn't help that his physical game was almost a clone of Moulson, so when you have 2 guys not doing the dirty work it leaves the big guy all on his own. Boyes basically gave me a new found respect for PA Parenteau who at least went into the corners and got his nose dirty

In all reality Boyes should fill the roll of somebody like Michael Ryder, basically play 3rd line/second unit PP so he isn't up against other teams top defensive players and give a team some secondary scoring.

On the plus side give Boyes a little time and open space I think he is very skilled to score or pass(but that being said you don't get that on the first line)
