I watched the three games of the rookie tournament and I noticed that Danault is involved in every shift. He battle hard along the boards and when he seems stuck, he makes a quick and accurate passes to a teammate. His peripheral vision is highly developed. Its speed and understanding of the game, however, seem its main assets.

In his case, we must look beyond the score sheet. In his final junior year, his coaches gave him a lot of ice time on the power play but he is a defensive player mission that can cause scoring chances. When he is on the ice, almost always something interesting happens.

I do not say that Danault is immediately ready for the NHL unless a surprise to the Blackhawks camp but in my opinion, one thing is certain, that player will be very useful one day to the Blackhawks in a specific defensive role.
