It's because CFL is perceived as bush league by the younger generation. I'm 23 and I have numerous friends that watch NFL religiously, but scoff at any mention of the CFL. I have one buddy who's a Bears fan that got mocked throughout the offseason because they hired Trestmann as their HC for no other reason than he came from the CFL.

In the NFL you have sold out 80,000 seat stadiums, superstar players, 32 teams and top notch TV coverage. You have none of that in the CFL, which unfortunately leads it to getting dismissed.
