They march to Oiler games because a lot more people have lived and breathed hockey their whole life. A lot of people played hockey growing up and have a lot of time invested in the sport, Football not as much.

Times are different. We have hundreds of TV channels and many sports to watch. If the Esks suck and you can watch a free MMA card or flip between 4 NFL games or whatever, then you lose fans. Before people didn't have options.
