That had something to do with it. As do all the terrible trades, signings, etc. He traded a 1st and 3rd for Versteeg in Feb 2011, in July 2011 he then traded Versteeg for a 2nd and 3rd. Trades Carter and Richards to sign Bryzgalov to ridiculous contract, trades Bobrovsky cause Bryzgalov is locked into said contract. All this while throwing money at any and every forward out there (although thats their position of strength), while continuing to neglect his goaltending, and he gets stuck with the worst tandem in the league (like always). Not to mention, he is always in cap troubles and forced to trade away players for salary relief.
