Edmonton made tough guy Georges Laraque, generally considered the NHL's No. 1 heavyweight, a healthy scratch for the fifth time in the past seven games. He saw the ice for a combined 4:38 the other two games.

It's no secret Laraque is available to the Eastern Conference team that wants him. Dudley isn't the only GM who feels Laraque is a fighter who can play, as evidenced by his 13 goals and 29 points in 2000-01 or his 19 points in 2001-02. Both are good tough-guy totals, especially with him averaging fewer than 10 minutes a game.
