I love Seinfeld as much as anyone but that was not one of his classic jokes. I don't know why people get so hung up about it. Nobody really thinks they are part of the team, especially when talking with other fans. "We" actually makes sense in a place like this since there are so many fans of all of the teams, and I use it sometimes in person too, just a habit. I think a lot of people do. And it's kind of funny too because Jerry Seinfeld is a HUGE Mets fan. It was a good joke and it was funny, but let's not take it too seriously.

I also think there is a right and wrong way to do it too that can make everybody happy.

"We scored a huge touchdown!"

No, "Tillman scored a huge touchdown!"

"We won!" "I can't believe we came back!" That's fine.
