The problem I have with that line of reasoning is that Q has made numerous exceptions for certain players during his time in Chicago. There have been players with similar (or worse) defensive issues who have gotten ample chances under Q. For whatever reason Q has an uneven history in regards to giving players (not just rookies) opportunities.
