As for the lucic thing. I agree here. Let's be honest, defensive d-men don't have a long shelf life. The guy separated his shoulder, lost his confidence and took a beating blocking shots for years. He didn't have strong hockey IQ and he got by and played his role extremely well but the card house fell down for multiple reasons. I just don't think it's fair to say he wasn't great for us, he was really good.

His plan to go to the leafs and not be THE physical element was a smart move career wise because he wouldn't have to carry a team in that department but when he went to TO he tried to do wayyyy too much and he got worse and worse. Lost more confidence and his body didn't exactly stop taking punishment. It's downhill now.
Very true. When you're body is that big (He's was/is about 240lbs. ) it must get harder and harder to drag all that weight around when you're banged up as time goes on.
