Ryan Jones cleared waivers, and all things considered, he's probably better a better 4th liner than Dumont. It seems Jones' game has taken a step back though, but Dumont is still showing no more than Jones.

Bournival, to me, looks like he's at least as good as Dumont right now. But Bournival seems to have much more potential, especially on the offensive side of the puck.

As for Beaulieu, he's gonna be a good one. He didn't look out of place at all in either of the last two games. He's got very good puck skills and he's very quick.
Dumont's cap hit is under 600k. Jones makes 1.5 mil cap hit. In a year where the cap drops and a pile of teams are in cap hell, that's a huge factor.

Nobody is saying Dumont would be a huge loss, but it's still a guy lost for nothing who could help the team at some point this year and help the Bulldogs right away. Last year we lost Palushaj who is a different player but had similar value and it hurt the young players, not having him on that top line to take some pressure off.

There are a lot of guys that struggled to make the NHL at first and turned into solid 4th line role players. I think Dumont can be another.
