His contract would slide until he was ready to turn pro. The SPC limit wouldn't have been an issue. Plenty of teams passed on him, sure, but if we lived by what other teams did, guys like Stralman, Girardi, Allen, Hrivik, etc, wouldn't be in the system or on the roster.
