Everything that has been said here so far is true:
1- Souray speaks the truth. Markov is the most important d-man of the Habs and Rivet will want to stay.
2- But saying that, definately means, for me that he'll be gone. If you want to stay, you could say those things but add that you did bring to the team some intangibles and having said that wished you could return as well....which he didn't.
So in the end, it will come to this, we're in a great race for the playoffs, we keep Souray and lose him for nothing. We're not in it, we trade him.
But having said, I'm really wondering what all 3 players could do if they really want to stay put. Would Rivet take less money if it helps keeping Sheldon? Would Markov do the same? Why wouldn't Souray do the same as well if he really intends staying?
Doesn't seem that way so far.....Besides, Rivet at 3.5 is nonsense for me.
P.S. You don't say things like "No matter what happens, I'll never forget this organization's class, for its belief in me and for sticking with me through some tough times last year." and come back.....This sounds like the last phrase you say AFTER you're traded or something like that....
