As for the proposal, Varlamov is more of the non-starter for me than ROR. The Avs were sloppy to start the game, and without Varly making some big saves, easily could have given up a couple early goals. Giggy doesn't make those saves, and I doubt Dubnyk does either. And, if the refs had called Lovejoy for tripping on the knee to knee (not intentional, but still dangerous), Varly would have shut out the 2nd best team in the West from last year.

Then look at ROR's goal and you see why Avs fans are excited about him being moved to LW. Having him able to forecheck without worrying about getting down low on D is going to cause some major frustration for opposing D.
