Eskimos head coach Kavis Reed apologized to Edmonton football fans Saturday, not merely for the 47-24 loss to the Montreal Alouettes, but for a season gone badly wrong.

The sorryest performers for the Eskimos in their latest butt-whipping were the players on defence, who failed to show up, gave up touchdowns on Montrealís first three posessions, making the rest of the game largely moot.

ďItís extremely disappointing. I apologize to our fans that we didnít give them the season they deserved,Ē Reed said.
