Crease. With all due respect, when you are looking at your Star goaltender in his last year who may or may not leave via FA... you have to do what is best for the team and not necessarily cool. I would have like to see Messier behind the bench as well. Yet at the same time you don't want to create a potential disaster situation the year Lundqvist leaves for UFA.

Don't think for a second that Lundqvist didn't have a say in AV's hiring. Also, IIRC, didn't Messier not get the job because he wanted to bring in his own staff and the Rangers wanted to surround him with a more experienced crew? (Can't remember where I read that).
